# Editing an Organization

# Editing an Organization

Change your organization's details at any time. On the same screen you decide whether each branch's public store page lists your other branches.

## Before you start

- You need a role that can change the organization, such as **Owner** or **Admin**. **Edit** shows only to people who can use it.
- Your Organization Management add-on must be active. A [paused organization](/docs/account/organizations/paused-organization) cannot be edited until the add-on is back.

## Steps

Open **Organizations**, choose your organization, and tap **Edit** at the top of **Home**.

Change the **Name**, the **Slug** (the link name), the **Country** or the **Currency**. The slug uses letters, numbers and hyphens, and no other organization may use it.

Under **Store pages**, **Show other branches on store pages** is **on by default**. While it is on, each branch's public store page gets a **Branches** tab and an **Other branches** row on its home page. Turn it off if your branches are separate brands that should not point at each other.

Tap **Save**. The change is written to the [activity log](/docs/account/organizations/organization-activity-log).

## What customers see

- The **Branches** tab lists your other branches that are shown online, with their photo, name, city and province, and whether they are open now.
- A branch appears only while its own **Show my store online** switch is on. A branch you hide stays hidden, and nothing tells customers it exists.
- Street addresses are never shown there, and your organization's name is not shown anywhere on a store page.
- A store that is not in an organization, or whose other branches are all hidden, has no **Branches** tab.

## What happens next

Turning the switch on or off shows on your branches' store pages within a few minutes, up to 5. The Branches tab and the Other branches row come or go then; the list itself is never more than a minute old. Changing the name, slug, country or currency does not change any store page.

## Edge cases

- **Link name taken:** the form tells you under the field. Pick another and save again.
- **Paused organization:** while the add-on is not active, **Save** is refused and the Branches tab disappears from every branch's store page, within a few minutes, until it is active again.
- **Editing on the website:** the organization dialog on the website changes the name, slug, country and currency but not this switch, and saving there leaves the switch as it was. Use the app to change it.
- **Only some branches show:** a branch that is inactive, suspended or a warehouse is left out, like a branch that is hidden.
