Most small shops take orders the same way they did ten years ago: a customer messages a screenshot of the menu, you type the order into the register, and somewhere in between a size or a flavor goes missing. Booking a chair at a salon is the same dance over chat. There is a simpler way, and it does not require your customers to install anything.
Your store already has a page
Every Fuze store has a public store page at its own web address. Customers open it on any phone — no app, no account — and see your info, hours and menu. It is free on every plan and visible whenever your store is set as discoverable.
You share it from the app. Open your store under Stores, find Share your store, and you can send the link through any messaging app or show a QR code for a counter stand. Download saves the code as a ready-to-print poster with your store name on it. The share message is written for you — store name, a short line, the link — so it drops straight into a Facebook or Viber group.
That alone replaces the screenshot menu. The next two switches turn the page into something customers can act on.
Switch one: online ordering
Turn on Allow online ordering under Configurations → Preferences → Storefront. Your page immediately gains a cart and a checkout. Nothing else changes.
Here is the part that makes it safe for a small shop. Checkout does not push an order into your register. The customer builds their cart, picks how they want it (in store, pickup or delivery), enters their name and contact details, and receives an order code — a QR. They show it at the counter or message it to you. Your staff scan it, the cart loads on the register, and your staff create the actual order. No payment happens online.
Once staff create it, it is an ordinary order in your order list, just like a walk-in. Your staff review every order before it exists — nothing reaches the till without a person putting it there.
Some things to know:
- Order codes last 24 hours. An unclaimed code expires, so stale drafts never clutter your list.
- Prices on the customer page are estimates. The final total is computed by your register when staff create the order.
- The menu stays honest on its own. An item you mark unavailable shows as sold out right away. An item you track stock for shows sold out when it hits zero. An item with serving hours shows "From 5:00 PM" instead of letting someone order a breakfast dish at night.
- A messaged code is as good as a scanned one. Staff can scan the chat preview, upload the customer's screenshot, or paste the link. All three load the order.
If you already have a cart going on the register, the app offers to stash it before loading the customer's order, so nothing is lost.
For a café: put a QR on every table
Each table (or bay, or chair) can have its own Table QR. A customer scans it with their phone camera and lands on that table's page, where the menu opens with the table already attached. Their order arrives knowing where they sit. When staff scan the customer's order code, the table is pre-selected on the cart — no "which table was that?" round trip.
The same code, scanned with the Fuze Store app by staff, opens the register bound to that table. Mint one per unit under Configurations → Areas & Units, download the poster, and stand it on the table.
For a café, this is the whole table-ordering setup: a printed code per table, online ordering on, and the register you already use.
Switch two: booking requests
Turn on Accept booking requests online on the same Storefront tab. Your page gets a Book button. It needs a plan with bookings, and appointments appear automatically once you have active bookable services. Table reservations appear only if you turn them on in the booking settings.
The customer picks Appointment or Reservation, chooses a service, picks a date and a genuinely open time slot, optionally picks a staff member (if you allow it — only people actually free at that time are listed), enters a name and mobile number, and submits. They land on a live status page: "Request sent — waiting for the store to confirm."
On your side, the request appears on your Events board with a Requested badge and a Storefront tag, at the requested time. The slot is held while it is pending, so nobody can double-book it. You Confirm or Cancel. Confirming flips the customer's page to "Booking confirmed". Declining asks for a reason — "Fully booked", "Staff unavailable" — which the customer sees, and you can add an internal note they never see.
A few rules worth knowing:
- Your operating hours shape which slots customers see. With no hours set, booking uses a 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM window.
- A request that is not confirmed before its slot passes, or within three days, is cancelled automatically and the slot is released.
- Booking requests do not send SMS or email on their own. If you need to discuss a booking, call the number the customer gave.
- No customer record is created until your staff choose to save one.
For a salon, barbershop or spa, this replaces the back-and-forth of "are you free Saturday at 2?" with a request you confirm in one tap. A laundry shop can use the ordering side the same way — a pickup order sent as a code, rung up when the bag arrives.
What to tell customers
Three sentences, on a sign at the counter or in your chat auto-reply:
- "Scan the code (or open our link) to see the menu and order."
- "Show us your order code, or send it to this chat, and we will ring it up."
- "To book, tap Book on our page and we will confirm within the day."
That last promise is yours to keep. Requests that sit unconfirmed cancel themselves, so check the Events board at the same times you check your orders.
Turn it on in an afternoon
- Share your store link and print the QR poster.
- Turn on online ordering, then place a test order from your own phone and scan it at the register.
- If you have tables, mint a Table QR for each and print them.
- If you take appointments, turn on booking requests and submit a test request.
- Put up the sign.
