Working Offline

The Hub is built for shops with unreliable internet. Only the first sign-in
needs a connection.
After that it keeps working from a cached session, so a
dropped line doesn't stop you printing receipts or running the kitchen screen.

What keeps working offline

  • Printing — receipts and kitchen tickets keep going to USB, network, and
    serial printers
  • Kitchen Display — runs from the Hub's own local database
  • Customer-Facing Display — keeps showing the cart

These run over your local network, so they never needed the internet. What
pauses is anything that has to reach the cloud: syncing tickets up, pulling
fresh catalog changes, and re-verifying who you are.

The offline indicator

While offline the Hub shows "Offline · last verified n ago" with the time
it last reached the cloud. That's informational — nothing is wrong, and it
clears itself when the connection returns.

The grace period

The Hub keeps working without internet for a set number of days — 30 by
default
. Printing, the kitchen screen, and the customer display carry on
normally for that whole window.

Past it, there's a further 7-day buffer before the Hub insists. So a Hub
that last saw the internet 30 days ago still works; one that hasn't in more than
37 days will stop and ask.

Two different things

The 30 days is about running without internet — not about how long you
stay signed in. Your sign-in is renewed automatically each time the Hub
reaches Fuze Store, and that renewal only works for up to 14 days. So if
the Hub has been offline for longer than about two weeks, everything local
keeps working, but the first thing you do that reaches Fuze Store — setting
up, switching store, resetting — will ask you to sign in again.

"Reconnect to verify your session"

If you see this screen, the Hub has been offline long enough that it needs to
confirm your account is still valid:

Reconnect to verify your session — This Fuze Store Hub hasn't reached Fuze
Store in a while. Reconnect to the internet to continue managing settings.

Get the computer back online and choose Retry connection. It picks up where
it left off — you don't lose settings, printers, or pairings.

This is about administration, not sales

The screen blocks managing the Hub. It exists so a Hub can't be administered
indefinitely by someone whose access was revoked weeks ago in the cloud.

"Sign in again to continue"

This is a different message, with a different fix:

Sign in again to continue — Your session expired. Confirm it's you and
we'll pick up right where you left off.

Here the internet is fine — it's your sign-in that needs renewing. Type your
password (or use Google / Facebook, or your two-factor code — whatever you
normally sign in with) and the Hub carries straight on with whatever you were
doing. Nothing you'd typed is lost.

Which one am I looking at?

Reconnect to verify your session → fix the internet, then press Retry.
Sign in again to continue → enter your sign-in details. Retrying won't
help with this one, and signing in won't help with the other.

If you can't get back online

Any internet will do — a phone hotspot for a minute is enough to re-verify.
Once it reaches the cloud, the grace window resets and it goes back to working
offline.

If your shop is often offline for long stretches, bring the Hub online
deliberately every few weeks rather than waiting for it to ask during service.

What doesn't come back on its own

When the connection returns, the Hub syncs queued kitchen tickets up to the
cloud automatically. If something looks out of step afterwards, see
Troubleshooting.
