Kitchen Display (KDS)

Add-on required. This feature requires the Kitchen Display add-on to be active on your store. View add-ons

Fuze Hub can power a Kitchen Display System — a dedicated screen in the kitchen that shows every incoming order in real time, with timers, alerts, and color-coded urgency.

Two ways to use KDS

Cloud mode (default) — tickets sync through the Fuze Store cloud. Works even if Fuze Hub isn't running, as long as each kitchen device has internet.

Local mode — tickets are stored on Fuze Hub's local SQLite database and pushed to the cloud when online. Recommended when your internet is unreliable, since the kitchen keeps working during outages.

Enable Local mode by toggling Kitchen Display sync during setup, or later in Settings → Modules.

Enabling KDS sync

Create a Cloud API token

Open Fuze Store → Configurations → Display → Kitchen Display → Configurations on a paired tablet.

Click Create token. Name it something like Fuze Hub — KDS sync. The scope must be lan:kds-sync (it's the only option available).

Copy the token immediately — it's shown exactly once.

Paste the token into Fuze Hub

In Fuze Hub, open Settings → Modules, toggle Kitchen Display sync on, and paste the token.

Click Save and restart services.

Open the kitchen screen

On a screen in the kitchen (an old iPad, a laptop, a Raspberry Pi, or even the same computer), open the mobile app and go to Fuze Store → Displays → Kitchen Display.

Tickets appear in real time as orders are placed.

What appears on the kitchen screen

  • Ticket header: order number, customer name or table, time placed
  • Items: quantity, modifiers, notes
  • Status: Pending → Preparing → Ready → Completed
  • Timer: elapsed since the ticket was created, color-coded by alert thresholds

Long-press a ticket to void or recall it. Changes sync back to the POS.

Monitoring sync

Open Fuze Hub → Kitchen Display. You'll see:

  • Last sync — when Fuze Hub last pushed tickets to the cloud
  • Unsynced — how many tickets are waiting (normally 0)
  • Last error — empty unless something went wrong

If Unsynced keeps growing, check your internet connection and use Force sync now.

Kitchen Display is an add-on. If you see KDS sync is turned off and Settings → Modules has the toggle greyed out, your store doesn't have the KDS add-on active. Enable it from Account → Add-ons in the mobile app or landing dashboard.
