Daily Sheet Report

The Daily Sheet is a digitized version of the paper daily sheet many small businesses already keep by hand — one screen for the day's orders, the cash you should have on hand, and who worked.

Open the report

  1. Drawer → Reports → Daily Sheet.
  2. Use the day picker at the top to move to a previous day, or jump back to Today.

The sheet opens on the last day of the period you were viewing in another report, or on today. The date lives in the screen's link, so you can bookmark or share a link straight to a specific day.

What you see

The sheet runs top to bottom on a phone. On a wide screen the middle of the sheet splits into two columns: the day's jobs, cash advances, and expenses on the left, and shifts, tenders, item mix, and staff totals on the right. It adapts to what your store has configured — a section only appears when its data source has something to show:

  • Shifts — one card per cash-register session that ran during the day (needs the Store Session add-on). Each card shows who opened it, when it opened and closed, how long it ran, its orders and sales, what it took per payment method (the payments taken during that shift), and the cash drawer: starting cash, cash sales, cash paid out, expected cash, the cash counted at close, and the difference. A shift that started on an earlier day or ended on a later day says so, and its figures cover the whole shift, the same numbers as its close report. Once a shift is closed its card shows the close report as counted, so approving an expense later does not change it.
  • Summary — orders, gross sales (the same figure as on the sales report: merchandise with VAT, before discounts), collected (what the day's orders were paid, less any change handed back), and Cash to remit: cash collected, minus cash refunded, minus approved expenses paid from the cash drawer (or, without the Expenses add-on, each Cash Out), minus cash advances paid out in cash. Each counts on the day the cash moved. When your store records several cars, bags or guests on one order, a Serviced tile also counts them for the day, such as Serviced · 3 cars.
  • Pace — sales by hour for the day, full width under the summary, followed by leakage (discounts, refunds, and voids).
  • Payments, item mix, and commissions today — every payment method used that day with its count and amount, the top products (an "Others" bucket groups the long tail so the list stays a comparison, not a catalog dump), and total commissions accrued, when Staff Commissions is on.
  • Items sold — every item sold that day, products and services alike, with its count and amount, grouped under its category with a category total. A product in several categories counts once, under the first category by name. If your store uses no categories, it is a plain list.
  • Staff totals — per staff member, a Commission row, plus Cash advance and Net rows that only appear when that staff member has a cash advance for the period — a staff member with no advance just shows their commission.
  • Jobs — every order for the day, with items, staff attribution (as a name chip, with an amount when there's commission attached to it), the time range worked, and one column for each order detail you turned on for Reports (a plate number, a vehicle type, a claim tag). Choose them in Configurations → Preferences → Service Context: open a field and add Reports under Show on. An order with two cars shows both values in one column, joined with a comma, such as ABC 1234, XYZ 5678. A job that is paid but not finished yet carries a Paid, in progress badge. A refunded order carries a Refunded or Partly refunded badge, and the commission on it is what's left after the refund, so the orders add up to Commissions Today.
  • Cash advances and expenses — cash advances recorded and the day's approved expenses (a pending expense shows once it is approved). Each expense is tagged Cash drawer or Other when your store has the Store Session add-on; only Cash drawer expenses are subtracted from Cash to remit. Without the add-on there is no tag, and new expenses count as paid from the cash drawer.

Below the working sections sits an Owner insights heading over a set of collapsed sections — compared to last week, money owed, returning customers, on duty, and tomorrow. Expand any one for the detail. On a wide screen they sit in two columns. On duty lists who signed in on the terminals, so it shows when your store has the Staff Operations add-on.

Which orders are counted

  • Completed orders count on the day they were completed.
  • A job paid in full before it is finished counts on the day it was paid. It shows in the Jobs list with a Paid, in progress badge and no time out. When you complete it later, it stays on the day it was paid and is not counted again.
  • A job that is only part paid is not counted in the day's orders or sales yet. Its payment still shows under Payments for the day you took it, and the job is listed under Money owed.
  • Commission is earned when the job is completed. A job paid on Monday and finished on Wednesday shows its staff on Monday's sheet without an amount, and the commission appears on Wednesday.

Other reports, such as Sales, count a sale on the day it is completed.

Exports

Tap the ⋯ menu at the top right and choose Export Excel or Export PDF, whichever your bookkeeper prefers. The menu shows only to staff who may download reports. Both files carry the same sections: the summary and payments, each shift, every order, the items sold, then staff, cash advances, expenses, pace, leakage, money owed, returning customers, who was on duty and tomorrow. The PDF prints the first three order details you turned on for Reports; the spreadsheet has all of them, and a separate Staff and Commission column for each person on a job. The PDF leaves out any section with nothing in it, and its pace table lists only the hours that had orders. On a phone, the share sheet opens so you can save or send the file (on Android the app first asks for a folder). The file keeps its .xlsx or .pdf ending, so it opens in any viewer. This report is available on every plan with basic reporting — it does not require an add-on.

Why is my number different?

  • A section you expect isn't showing at all. Every section is gated on having something to show — a store with no cash advances that day won't show a Cash advance row anywhere, and a store without the Cashier Sessions add-on won't show a Shifts section.
  • An order detail (like a plate number) disappeared from the sheet. It shows only when the field has Reports turned on under Show on in Preferences → Service Context. Stores created before this option existed need to turn it on once.
  • Cash to remit doesn't match what's in the drawer. It's cash collected minus cash refunded minus approved expenses paid from the cash drawer (or Cash Outs, without the Expenses add-on) minus cash advances paid out in cash. It leaves out the opening cash and any Cash In, so with one shift that day it equals the shift's expected cash minus its starting cash. An expense tagged Other was paid another way, so it is not subtracted. If it really came out of the drawer and is still pending, edit it and set Paid from to Cash drawer. An approved expense can't be edited: void it with a reason and record it again with the right Paid from. An expense dated another day counts on its own date here, but in the drawer of the shift it was recorded in.
  • A refund changed last week's sales but not last week's cash. Sales reports take a refund off the day of the sale; cash to remit and the shift take it off the day the cash was given back.
  • A job I was paid for today is not in today's orders. It counts only once it is paid in full. If the customer paid part, it is under Money owed until the rest is paid.
  • Today's orders include a job that is not finished. It was paid in full today, so it counts today. The Paid, in progress badge marks it.
  • A staff member's Jobs row shows commission but they're paid a flat wage. The Jobs row always shows the line's own commission math regardless of that staff member's pay type — their pay statement, not this row, is what actually reflects Fixed-only or Greater-of pay.
