How to Update a Category
Keep your categories current so your POS and menus always reflect what you offer. You can change a category's name, color, image, or any other detail at any time.
Step-by-Step Guide
- Open the menu -- Click the sidebar menu icon to open navigation.
- Go to Categories -- Select Categories from the menu list.
- Choose a category -- Click the category you want to edit (for example, "Drinks").
- Edit the details -- Update any field as needed. See Field Explanations for what each field means.
- Enable -- Keep this category active and visible (default is Yes).
- Include in Menu -- Show this category in your POS and digital menus (default is Yes).
- Category Name -- The name displayed in the app and menus.
- Code -- A short code for internal use.
- Parent Category -- Choose a parent if this is a sub-category (optional).
- Description -- A brief note about what the category contains.
- Color -- Pick a color to organize or highlight this category.
- Image -- Upload an image or icon (optional).
- Save -- Click Save. Your changes appear instantly in the POS and menus.
Tips
- Changes take effect right away after saving.
- Use clear names and images so staff and customers can find things easily.
- Use colors to make important categories stand out.
- Leave optional fields blank if you are unsure what to enter.
