How to Attach Tax to Products or Services

After you create a tax, you need to attach it to the items that should charge it. The system then applies the tax automatically whenever those items are sold.

Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Open the sidebar menu.
  2. Select Products or Services.
  3. Click on the item you want to update.
  4. Find the Tax section in the item details.
  5. Choose the correct tax from the dropdown (for example, "VAT" or "Service Tax"). If you do not see the tax you need, create it first in Store Settings > Taxes.
  6. Click Save. The selected tax will apply each time this item is sold.

Tips

  • Confirm each item has the right tax, especially if you sell both taxable and non-taxable items.
  • You can assign different taxes to different products or services.
  • When you update a tax rate, all items using that tax update automatically.
  • Consult your accountant if you are unsure which tax applies.

  • Review item tax assignments regularly, especially after price or menu changes.
  • Train staff to check tax settings when adding or editing products.
  • Remove unused or outdated taxes to keep your list clean.
